Jacob 4 Horn Sheep are a rare Ancient Breed dating back to Before Christ (Genesis 30; 31-43) They are raised for their wool, meat, hIdes and unique horns that are popular with Trophy Hunters. The wool is sought by Hand Spinners because it is light, soft, springy and open with little lanolin ( grease ). Staple length is generally 3 to 5". black and white spotted and often lilac. the Rams have larger horns than the ewes that may or may not have horns and are more insignificant than that of the male. Jacobs are typically hardy, low maintenance animals with a naturally high parasite and disease resistance that plague modern breeds of sheep. The ewes are especially protective mothers and easy lambers. I have sold all sheep for now and focusing on my goats.
